It is hereby proposed the establishment within the borders of the EU+ of the conceptual state Unaphtia, the fundamental and formative ideas of which are:

– rejection of an economy based on the energy of burning fossil fuels;

– understanding of the environment as a world with which civilization must be in complete harmony of coexistence;

– socio-economic model of society based on the absolute priority of humanistic values;

– the rule of law based on humanistic consciousness.

The creation of the Unaphtia should mark a new, higher stage in the development of society, based primarily on humanistic values and the development of new forms of socio-economic life.

The Programme of Post-Present Time

Post-present time is the form of the future, which flows in parallel with the present, forming events that realize the reality of the future now. Capes are places where Post-Present Time can start its run…

1. The transfer in favor of Unaphtia of all “green technologies”, including those bought up earlier by oil and gas companies and hidden “under the cloth”, if any.

2. Shutting off all the oil pipelines to Unaphtia form outside.

3. Complete cessation of all operating oil and coal enterprises on the territory of Unaphtia.

4. Transfer by hydrocarbon companies of sites and premises located within Unaphtia boundaries for humanitarian and educational projects for their further transformation into predominantly cultural and educational institutions – art residences, museums, museum depositories, research centers, etc.

5. Re-branding and complete reformatting of the activities of oil and gas corporations on the territory of Unaphtia, as an admissible alternative to their continued existence, if the absolute renunciation of activities in the oil and gas sector is acceptable to them.

6. Gradual advancement of non-hydrocarbon energy policy outside of Unaphtia: at first – to neighboring countries, in the future – around the world, what supposedly should mark the final transition to solving global environmental problems and climate challenges; and as conjugated with this circumstance – a fundamental change in the nature of foreign policy relations and geopolitics in general. In this paragraph, the axiological factor is realized as the basis for setting the goal of an actually new historical formation – metacapitalist, – the beginning of which is laid by Unaphtia.

7. Refusal to participate in wars as a tool for solving foreign policy contradictions. The exception is forced defense against an aggression from outside.

8. Creation of comfortable conditions for the category of people who are released from the oil and gas industry in order to receive an alternative education for their professional re-orientation in the light of finding themselves in the areas closest to their spiritual identity. The understanding of the priority of material reward as the initial given in search of employment should be reconsidered as a phenomenon unnatural to the understanding of happiness.

The purpose of creating such conditions is to protect this category of people, as the most vulnerable due to the transition from oil and gas to non-hydrocarbon formations, and the favorable opportunity for the best disclosure of their spiritual, aesthetic and intellectual potential, the state of which, it’s assumed, was dormant during the period of stay in the oil and gas industry – sphere that is unnatural for human nature. The main and, apparently, the only motive for such involvement in the oil and gas sector – relatively high wages – is supposed to be opposed to the search for axiologically more worthy alternatives.

9. Gradual transit of the above employment model (ref. to the point 8) from the regional to the global one.

10. Establishment in the immediate vicinity of the key capes of Europe – for example, Grenen (Denmark), Kap Arkona (Germany), Land’s End or Start Point (UK), Cape Roca or Sagres  (Portugal), Nordkapp (Norway) and so on – of residences for the joint work of representatives of creative professions, as well as philosophers, sociologists, futurologists, economists etc. for the development of:

– such an experimentally new form of social life, in which the fundamental condition for successful functioning would be independence from the now vicious need to earn money as a predetermining condition in choosing a sphere of activity and production of material and other goods (of which, far from all is value, because the content of such goods is now erroneously determined to a greater extent by the demands of the market or groups of influence);

– such an economic model, the basis of which would be not an economy based on the quantitative satisfaction of market demands, but its qualitative saturation;

– models based on the forms of human interaction, the exchange of resources and other ascending lines of alternative economic systems;

– models for the implementation of program items for the future of Unaphtia.

The result of such work of the residences is the development of not only research works of a philosophical and socio-economic nature, but also the creation of works of art created in an atmosphere of joint search for future models of society founded on a higher value-based level of well-being and prosperity. Such artworks, created in the atmosphere of their search, anticipating or reflecting possible forms of the expected future, can also contribute to the search for new forms of art itself.

The direct location of such residences near the cape – as the most extreme points of the continent, where the energy of the elements is most fully accumulated – in my humble opinion and personal observations, surprisingly contributes to the fruitful generation of ideas. The sea, as a natural element, has the incredible and still unknown energy, which carries a force that invisibly nourishes a human who is at the edge of the earth. A cape, surrounded by the sea on three sides, is especially favorable for the accumulation of the energy of thoughts, beneficial performance and deep penetration into the understanding of the essential relationship between the element of creativity with the harmony of nature and the purity of thoughts generated by it. Being the focus of the three elements, the cape is in many ways also symbolic in itself, and the phenomenon of concentration of sensations while being in such a space comes from the still completely unexplored depths of the metaphysical nature of its inter-elemental location.

11. After affirming the priority of humanistic values as the basis for the successful functioning and sustainable development of Unaphtia, it must finally find its solution the issue of admitting the “original wrongness of the world”, in which its geniuses of the past were sometimes forced to stay in extreme and absolutely undeserved poverty or, at least, in forced domestic unsettledness – Malevich, Tsvetaeva, Kafka, Gauguin, Modigliani, Khlebnikov, etc. – while representatives of spheres that do not enrich the world spiritually at all, do not create intellectual and spiritual food, without which a full-fledged society is unthinkable in principle, were not only materially impeccably secured, but also formed the main trends in the establishing social priorities.

Meanwhile, the vicious paradox of finding poets, artists, composers and thinkers – those who created masterpieces – on the brink of survival is increasingly linked in the minds of contemporaries, albeit with recent, but already fading history. However, the systemic causes capable of reproducing such a flaw in society still remain not deactivated, and the final solution to the issue of preventing the recurrence of the vices of the civilization should become one of the main tasks in the formation, implementation and sustainability of the system values of Unaphtia, – a country that inherits history where producers of material values far from the spiritual component owed too much to the creators of spiritual values in the past. A situation in which representatives of creative professions who create masterpieces of artistic thought, or, at least, allow via intellectual and aesthetic tools to understand the complex world around us, survive being at times on the verge of poverty, is vicious in principle and to be unacceptable in post-present time.

12. The territory of Unaphtia should become organically convenient for the creation of works of any kind of art – whether theatrical, literary or cinematic – which, under the current system of financial and economic interdependencies, are very vulnerable to the still existing dictate of the market. This category includes all areas of creative activity that are vulnerable from a market point of view, in particular, such as art-house cinema, non-fiction literature, poetry, experimental theater, the latest media of contemporary art and any other types of creative or research activity, the fruitful implementation of which is possible only with complete independence from ultimate financial success. The creation of a new model of society based on the absolute priority of humanistic values will allow reaching that level of its arrangement, its desire for harmony and self-sufficiency of creation, in which the search for the meaning of being (as one of the highest forms of spiritual and intellectual activity) will be a natural continuation of spiritual and creative life, in an atmosphere in which it is possible to create works of art that answer not only acute and relevant questions, but even those that have not yet been raised by society, anticipating the impossibility of the onset of crises.

Working with Heritage

– Oil pipelines are underground veins of the memory of a vicious past. Installations LICHT at the places where oil pipelines come to the surface of the earth are supposed as a symbolic duel of two forces – light and dark – ending with a victory in favor of the first, displacing its dark past from the territory of Unaphtia.

– The production premises of the oil industry as centers for re-coding civilizational values: places of the once barbaric use of the energy of the earth and the confinement of people into the framework of self-contained disciplinary paradigms of behavior are reincarnated into spaces for generating cultural values that are possible only in the presence of an atmosphere and spirit of freethinking, contributing to freedom of creativity and intellectual creation.

– The predominance of the energy of concentration of art over the harmfully accumulated memory of the exploitation of hydrocarbon energy in the places of its former concentration – on the sites of the former oil and gas industry.

Privileges

– The uniqueness of the phenomenon of simultaneous stay in two worlds (at the initial stage) – in Unaphtia and on the territory of its location, but outside the post-present time.

– The ability of the inhabitants of Unaphtia to influence the parallel processes in the common space with the EU+ member states from the standpoint of the values and achievements created in Unaphtia.

– Participation in the development of advanced models of qualitative saturation of the space of Unaphtia.
